49 degrees and sunny, how lovely...

I'll be spending all day in a car driving to the other part of the state, where it's slightly warmer...but it's raining.

But I get my new car this weekend!  (Hopefully)  New freaking stereo!  yeah.

When I type "Dutch hamlets" into the search bar, I mean small villages, not the Shakespearean play.  I would have figured the pluralization to give it away.

To all my classes:

Operation: Don't Give a Fuck, commence.

Me: Wait, nononononono.  Abort abort ABORT!

Brain: Too late.

Because I can't resist a meme.

Ganked from karaokegal:

I've kind of grown in and out of fandoms, but there's a good chance that anything goes as far as what I think people will ask about... I think...

Oh, and I'm definitely posting some RL stuff later, because awesome stuff has happened...haha
Most of these are ganked from babykid528 because she's posting too many memes for me not to gank. :)

So anyway, Grad night was interesting, except for a couple big downers, but hey, I had some fun. For starters, the bus on the way to our first destination was blasting rap music so loud, I thought my head was going to explode or I was going to go deaf. It was rediculous. Then we get to the first place. GoKarts. Awesomeness. It had gokarts, karaoke, a couple of arcade games, and other stuff. I was all for the racing, and I did it a couple times, but then Hannah and I went up to try out the karaoke machine. It was a little nervy because we were the only two up there, but I had a song I wanted to try and so did Hannah, but it was kinda dumb for us to be the only two up there.

Well anyway, lucky us, that's when everyone else decides to come upstairs to try the karaoke machine and has ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT A LINE IS apparently. So there's the option to reserve a song, and all these girls are crowding it, trying a different song every thirty seconds when they can't get the beat on the song they're on. I decide to reserve a song, and everyone gets pissed off when it's not the song they requested, and I go and say that they've been around the stupid machine and have had their pick at at least ten songs before I finally got sick of waiting for them to finish and put my own song on reserve.

Gah I'm way too pushy for my own good.

I back off when one of my acquaintances (because I can't call her a friend) tells me she hasn't had a chance to sing yet (and she hasn't) so I let her go, but she is SO off key, I can't stand to be in the room anymore. So I go down because it's open racing on the GoKarts. I go back up after my race and Hannah and I do a duo of Gimme Gimme Gimme by Abba, because we had recently seen Mamma Mia, and it's kind of an inside joke. Sad thing was Hannah didn't know the song as well as I did, so it was mostly me singing and her joining in at intervals. I did a solo of Once Upon a December, and tried to do Time is Running Out by Muse, but people thought I've been on it for too long and wanted their turn (believe me, I wasn't on a third of the time the others were)

At about 3AM, it was time to leave, and we made our way to this random part of Seattle to get on a boat in Lake Washington. Blackjack tables, Dancing to rediculous music and a downright HILARIOUS Hypnotist show were the highlights, but, I spent all my energy explaining the rediculousness of the karaoke machine, so I'm signing off.

EDIT: I fail at Livejournal

...In the Jungle of Nool near the River Walloo.

Seussical is on its third night and the only way to go is up. We've gotten progressivley better every night since opening night, and with a week-long break, I'm not sure if the momentum can keep up, but then again, we're getting better with each performance. I'm excited.

On the crushing front, I hate my emotions. Seriously. This guy has a gf (albeit across the country) and I can't stop thinking about him! Doesn't help matters when he and I are playing practically the same part in the show. (I have a weakness for guys who can sing) GAH!

First order of business:

I just finished watching (non-musical version) Les Miserables in Calc today (long story). I want me some Javert/Jean Valjean slash NOW. If anyone has recs, that would be awesome, but I'm probably going to teeter into the Pit later on to find some...

I don't remember what the second was...

Music Theater Drama that I'm sick of, but can't stop venting about. One of the girls missed Dress Rehearsal, and blatantly lied to our director about being there. She's been missing class for weeks, and doesn't even bother learning the choreography or the music. She was fired once, but she managed to get back in favor, so she was back, but now that she actually missed Dress Rehearsal, I think director finalized the banhammer. I hope so. I heard her conversing with her friends about how she missed Dress because 'she was a firefighter and as a firefighter she had to be at the fire drill' that was on the same day. She called Dress a 'Dress rehearsal thingy'.

It makes me wonder: if you really don't care about the program, the show, the cast, and the ensemble enough to show up or respect it, why in the seven hells did you sign up for the bloody class? It isn't an easy A for people who just want to blow it off. Get your damn priorities straight, and stop trying to weasel your way out of responsibility! Bloody hell!

Show in 2 weeks!!!!! I can't wait!!!

May. 15th, 2009

Well, I guess it's all downhill from here.

Now that my final AP test is over with, I'm pretty much done with half of my classes. Really, we're watching movies and playing games while doing actual math once a week in Calc, and then we have a final project in Composition, but it has to do with media influence, I think, so that doesn't really matter.

Really, the next hump I have to get over is Musical Theater and the Seussical show. We're done on that front in the first full weekend in June, and then only class I'll actually have to do anything in is Spanish! SuperSpecialAwesome.

I'm about a thousand dollars away from covering my freshman year without loans. If I get there, it'd be nice, if I don't, $958 is better than $4,458 when it comes to loans.

It's past midnight. Tomorrow Today is Friday. I told myself I'd actually get some sleep tonight, and since GaiaOnline isn't even loading for me, I guess I should call it a night.

Welcome to My own special brand of hell...

Guess what I'm doing tomorrow?

Four-hour Composition Exam.

Hell in a handbasket. I shouldn't be up this late. I really shouldn't.

So now I'm trying to remember the main characters of everything I ever read for the free response question, and failing considerably. I don't even remember the general storyline of Kafka's Metamorphosis for crying out loud!

Of course, it being midnight might explain a couple things, but I'm going to be even more out of it tomorrow.

Sleep, dreams, please cram a few things into my head...like how to not write like a stiff on a formal examination... boooooooooooooooness.

Honors Update

I'm IN!

I got a call today, just as I was taking my friend to class this afternoon, and it shows on my cell as 'unknown'.

Background: I'm a relatively new driver on the streets (even though I've been doing it for nearly a year) so getting on a highway while walking to an Honors College Rep on a cell phone isn't the easiest of things to do, especially when cell phones are just about illegal while driving.

Long story short, I explained the situation, and how I got the message late, and she said that she'd put me on the official list, so I'm in. Happiness is me.

Also, I got a haircut. It looks vastly different. Seriously.

May. 4th, 2009

It's oddly satisfying to find out that I have internet access while waiting for 4th period to start, but now that means I have to conform to the school's firewalls, and that means no facebook, and no message boards...boo.

Anyway, it's nice to look busy...

Insight of the Day:

Burnt coffee tastes horrible.

The worst part of it is, no one in my house seems to notice the flavor except me...how could anyone miss the taste of burnt coffee? ack!

Anyway, I'm obsessed with finishing KH2, even though I have an AP exam to prepare for on Wednesday. Boo. Eh, Calculus can wait. lol.

I go into town today to grab something for my stepdad, right? Something to do with pressure washer hoses and whatnot, stuff I couldn't really care less about. Well, I go to get my cell phone out of my purse to call him for clarification, and it's nearly dead, but I do find out that there's a voicemail on it. Great, I figured it would be my mom overreacting to something or whatever.

I was wrong.

"Hello this is Washington State University Honors College..."

Apparently I had to let them know separately that I was accepting their offer by...yesterday.

I'm screwed. Just pretty much screwed. The school is competitive to say the least, and I screwed my chances, just because I never check my cell phone.

More stupidity on my part: No, it doesn't end there, I call them back, even though they're closed today, and tell them I'm returning a message...then I give them my cell number AGAIN.

I'm an idiot. Pure and simple. I also gave them my home number, but seriously, I won't know if they call me back until about a week after they leave the bloody message!

...damn it...
Seriously... Just because Senioritis has made me not want to do anything doesn't mean I can leave this place hanging for over a year. Geez...

This is weird, coming back to LJ and finding fandoms have gone on to newer and better things, while I, on the other hand, have almost completely fallen out of the House fandom...grr...I'm still going to go and pretend seasons 4 and 5 do not exist. It's not the same without Chase and Cameron and Foreman all in one place at any given time...

I'm playing KH 2 at the current moment...and I guess that's that. I promise I'll be back with a little more of a clear update sooner than a year...hahaha

Randomness in the span of life...

First order of business: HOW IN SEVEN HELLS ARE PEOPLE SEEING THE TORCHWOOD FINALE ALREADY?!?!?!?!?! I just saw Adrift this weekend! *silently cries in corner*

Two: Doctor Who. Can't. Wait. nuff said.

Three: Must get coffee...now.

Four: My fucking lizard is a bitch. He bit me. And it bloody hurts.

Five: That is the LAST time I do DDR in slip-ons. Two blisters, OW.

Kinda random:

Something I'm enjoying:

HS Musical Theater cast in Anything Goes. Cole Porter: Hugely difficult music, but I'll get over it. At least I'm not Reno. Although, me being sick right now is screwing with my throat, so I can't hit anything above an F without cracking...which downright sucks! Hopefully I'm over the worst of this before I go back to school.

Something I'm not enjoying:

PreCalculus. No, it's not that I hate math. It's not that the math is too hard. It's exactly the opposite. IT'S TOO GODDAMNED EASY!!!!!! The teacher goes way too damned slow and isn't letting me work ahead. I dread third period every day. At least I have a week off.

Well, it sure has been a while...

Five months...

Well, I needed to take a little break from writing for a while as I was a bit...busy. School is getting on my nerves lately, and I figure I might as well catch up on here...

Not really excited. Really weird. I would have been excited if I were going to that Stargate Convention in Vancouver next week, but no. Money could not be saved... :( I'm kind of bummed out about it, but hey. There's always next year...I guess...

Anyway, as I now find out, my computer has been damaged by the recent flooding of my room due to a water tank pipe bursting in my closet. Half of my stories are on my computer. Grrr... Need. to. save. hard. drive. I want a laptop desperately.

I have a couple new original ideas planted in my head, but only enough potential content to make maybe a short story out of them. One's got to be a fanfic universe, so I might decide to start up in the DBZ fandom again.

Speaking of fandom, I just took a break. It was really weird, but I come back to the internet and find fanfic again and I'm like ooohhh... I completely forgot about this.

Well, anyway, I have to do a bit of outlining to see if I can organize my ficticious thoughts a bit more. I'll be back...maybe...

The insanity has begun again!

Here we go f-list, if you're interested in joining the ficlet version of lims, sign up for house_las.

The sign-ups will be open until the 31st, and the first prompt gets posted on the 5th. Theme this time around is pairings.

Join if you wish. There are a few of you who were there before. I can't do it this year, but my sis is co-modding.

Okay, I'm swamped with English homework. Compare/Contrast papers FTL.

I'm insane. I'm doing it.

I have no clue how I'm going to find time in between college essays and the mediocrity of high school, but I think I will do this.

Anyone with me?

Mid-week sucks...

Well, school has started. We're all in a little routine now. I'm kind of pissed that I had to sacrifice my ENTIRE COLLEGE SCHEDULE because of IDIOT HS SCHEDULE BLOCKS but that's alright. I now only have my English course Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 7:15 in the evening. I think I'll be fine with that. I hope to take Drama as Literature Winter quarter, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Anyway, I'm getting into new fandoms! Well, not really, I'm just getting interested in new shows... And get this, they're all BBC programs.

Torchwood and MI-5. I got the first season of MI-5 out of the library to check out the show (and of course, I must track down everything Hugh Laurie's been in), and it turns out that it's a cool show. I promptly put seasons two and three on request as well.

I have too much to do, not to mention I have to run later today. Got to go. Bye.

Funny Funny Funny....

Okay, earlier this summer...I think even before school ended (I don't remember), I drug up one of my earliest completed short stories and looked it over again.

I remember giving it to Hannah a couple years ago to edit, and when I got it back, her notes were very many. I think that her notes were longer than the story itself, but that's probably a major overexaggeration. Well, I don't know. I was quite overwhelmed by reading how much I completely sucked at my first draft.

Well, re-reading the short story, I wonder why I even bothered with writing. Okay, that's a joking self-deprication... But the point remains the same. I'm brought to remember what I've seen flamers of fanfiction say: "Stop writing now because you definitely don't know how." Wait a minute, that's not the way it works. It's like this: "YOU SUCKZ!!!111 STOP WRITING!!!!111"

It was a first draft at best, which ensures that it will completely suck. That's what editors/betas are for, and re-writing/revising is always an option. In this case, I decided to re-write because 1, I couldn't track down the original file (I only had the hard copy), and 2, I would have too much to re-type. So I decided to scrap the entire thing and start from scratch...well, the basic outline of the original.

Put it this way. The original copy was 11 pages long (including an epilogue that I don't plan to include in the re-type). Right now, I'm starting on the 11th page in my re-type. As an outline for my revision, I am only up to the equavalent of the fifth page on my original. So, put simply, I have about twice the output in my revision. And I think I know why...

A while back, I figured out that I write more toward the plot than the characters. I form plots first and create characters to fit into that plot rather than vise-versa. Because of this, I hardly wrote my characters in depth. That would be my major screw-up in this story. Of course, I wrote this in...8th grade?...so that would be another reason why it completely sucked. I had tense problems, ignorant grammar when it came to dialogue, and nonexistent character depth...

Boy, I am SO glad I learned how to write... A few important points of grammar that I know I wouldn't have learned had it not been for English majors, or at least competent people criticizing my fanfiction...

For all you reviewers, I thank you.

Was that the point in writing this entry? Originally, no. Originally, I planned on analyzing my writing style. Funny how I go off on tangents like that...

I got season one of Stargate SG-1 from the library a couple days ago... Boy, the beginning of the series can get quite boring... However, once you get out of setting the storyline, you tend to gain a liking to long-haired Daniel... Yeah... hehehe...

I want Season 7 now kthxbai... I got season six a couple weeks ago, and I hated it. Why? Jonas is an idiot, that's why.

Okay. I'm done here. I probably won't be updating for another week... lol...

Well, farewell for now...

Just a random fact that I find funny...

The name Fenrir, in old Norse/Scandinavian means "dragon". I looked it up as a name for my iguana.

In Norse mythology, Fenrir is a giant wolf.

See the irony? It's interesting.

MASSIVE MEME POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For absolutely no reason... We have the massive meme post. Knicked these from all over the place.

Click if you dareCollapse )

Eh... Far too hot in here...

Yeah, ya know what? Being stuck in a house with a 90 degree temp (F) with no air conditioning is an act of torture.

In case you're wondering, I am having endless fun with my new fandom. Daniel Jackson is one fine man, that is for sure... AND I NEED ICONS!!!!

Okay, I am in the middle of an LJ hitaus, trying to revise my short story, so I'm not really writing fic at the moment. I'll check in, but I think I'm falling out of loop with House. I don't really know why, scratch that, I probably do. Eh, I have a sequel for "Cycles" planned, though I don't know when I'm going to write it.

Yup...far too much fun... I have camp for a week starting Monday, so I have to be cut off from everything for a week. On the bright side, I have the chance to do an acting class...and possibly archery. Now if only there was a fencing activity. That would be endlessly sweet.

You know what I just realized? I haven't posted my house_las final round fic yet! I can't believe I've been that out of whack. Okay, well, that'll be coming up soon. I have to go and find a way to cool down. That would be nice.

I also have a neck strain, I cannot move my head to look to my left. I can barely look up. Pressing the pressure point stops it for a while, but that won't last... Makes me wonder what position I was sleeping in last night...

Man, this was interesting...

I got second place in house_las! I'm okay with it, I guess, but I was noticing a lot of unnatural changes in the polls...very quickly... This round was intense... I didn't think this many people would vote this late in the rounds.

Congrats to keeper_of_stars, who won first. It was tough. A difference of two votes, I believe we were quite close.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to participate in round 2 because of the classes I'll be taking next year, but I'll be looking in.

I have original stuff to work on over the summer anyway, which is my first priority. I might be taking a bit of a summer fanfic hitaus from LJ, though I'll be posting my original table works, which will help me in writing the eventual four-part story I plan to write.

School is officially out tomorrow. That's nice. I can finally start on things that I want to do instead of things that I have to do.

Well, if people who don't know wish to look at the nice pretty banner I received, take a check into my profile, otherwise, I'll be going now. Farewell...

I feel tired, but I couldn't go back to sleep if I tried...

Well, since it's nearly summer, the sun is rising earlier, and I'd be hard-pressed to find some proper darkness after 7 am. Grrr...

Well, I was a late arrival last night for house_las, but xheartrockx said it didn't matter as long as I got it in before she posted the polls, so I'm relieved.

Okay, let's begin with the parade. Forrest Festival. Shelton. Those two sentences spell out all KINDS of trouble for the school that has an eternal rivalry with Shelton HS (especially since the teacher who taught music before EDD moved there...).

I think we did well. The front rank (get this) ACTUALLY WAS ABLE TO TURN PROPERLY!!!!!!!!!!! *le GASP!!!* I think my only problem with the front rank was one of the freshman trumpets putting in his idiot solo... That and the fact I was wearing white shoes...(dumb story behind this)

After the parade, I was trying to find a ride (because I really didn't feel like getting a ride w/mom and because she had been in town all day). Well, after asking everyone I knew were reliable for rides if they were riding the bus home (they weren't), I found Hannah's mom and asked her. Hannah's siblings were also in the parade, and they were a HUGE band.

After Shelton (in which I have no idea whether or not we won), we had lunch at DQ, and then we picked up Hannah and we went to the lake... Consulted over LAS fic, and then I went home and typed it up. She edited, and I sent it in with practically NO time left.

I also started a three-way poke war on Facebook. I WILL WIN! EVERYONE ELSE WILL LOSE!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Today was unbelievable...

Shall we start this rational explanation with a certain conversation last night?

Yeah, Hannah called me. Blah, blah, blah, usual stuff, and then she drops the Jordan bomb. So she's decided to set this thing in motion, trying to get him to confront me because she knows it'll be impossible for me to do it alone.

Well, going into it this morning, I knew that. So I stayed FAR AWAY from her until she came to me. Said she told, and to expect something to happen.

Namely, it didn't.

Unless it was happening when I wasn't looking, nothing different was happening at all. We went out marching, and I got annoyed at the fact that the front line trumpets STILL can't turn correctly to save their pitiful lives.

I go into the band room, nervous as hell. I know it's going to have to happen, and if he wasn't going to confront me about it, I had to go to him.

So that's how he finds me practically hyperventilating in the instrument closet.

He asks if anything's wrong, I tell him nothing. He starts to leave, and I'm battling with myself. But it had to come out eventually, and I already called his name. So it had to happen now.

I'm practically dying of embarassment, but it gets out eventually. Mostly instinct, but I remember most of it. He acknowledges it like I kind of thought he would, making the obvious point that he's graduating this year. At least I finally got it off my chest. I don't have so much pressure built up anymore.

Tonight was Bye Bye Birdie for the second time! It was so funny. I loved it!

However, now I need to get cracking. I still have my LAS to finish up. The parade tomorrow isn't going to help, and this is going to be tight. I will try as hard as I can, but the end of the year is not helping me at all...

I'm tired, and I have to get up quite early tomorrow. Farewell...

Stupid idiot prompts...

Yes, folks, the finals of house_las has begun. Best of luck to keeper_of_stars who has also made it to the final two.

Now for the prompt. Endings. Yes, you heard me. Endings. Quite predictable. But I think I already have an idea. Hopefully this is more in my comfort zone.

I now have a Facebook. It's cool. I found a few of my friends and added them. I didn't know anything about it...

Now... I have to go take a shower... Do some sort of picspam, and make sure my little brothers don't take over the world. Farewell....
